November 13, 2014
Hudson Guild welcomes Nebraska-born artist Larry Schulte for his exhibit Math + Weaving = Art, at Guild Gallery II, from November 13, 2014 – January 24, 2015. The opening reception will be on Thursday November 13, from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.
This exhibit is a thirty-year survey of weavings of paper, photographs, and paintings based on the Fibonacci Sequence, which were made in New York City by Larry Schulte. The Fibonacci Sequence consists of the numbers 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 . . . where the next number is always the sum of the two previous numbers. These numbers are found throughout the structure of nature, in everything that has a conical structure (pine cones, sea shells, etc.). Larry brings his love of mathematics, painting, and weaving to the Guild in this unique, fascinating exhibit. Learn more about the event here.
