Community Mental Health Services
As its name implies - our CMH department provides services in the
community at large – as well as within the extended walls of the
Hudson Guild community.
Guild Programs:
We’ve found that for many people seeing a social worker in a
traditional clinic setting can be frightening and stigmatizing. Some will
just never make that journey. We therefore have social workers on-site in
many of our programs – available to interact with participants in a
familiar setting.
School-based Programs:
By working on-site in some of our more challenged local schools, we are
able to become part of the fabric of the school and have a significant
impact on the whole system. We work closely with educational staff,
provide psycho-educational workshops and groups, identify children in
need, and provide ongoing treatment and referral.
Adolescent After-School Program: Funded through a
grant from the DOHMH we have an integrated teen After-School program that
also serves kids with emotional difficulties. Our enhanced staffing
pattern allows these challenged youngsters to have a more successful
experience in a mainstream setting.
At-Risk Family Support Program: We
provide hands-on, tangible help for overwhelmed parents. Case-management
services (in-home and center) and parent education workshops are
available to families who are having difficulty managing their parental
responsibilities.
Technical Assistance: We
also provide assistance to other community based organizations who are
either in need of mental health services for their agencies – or in
need of help in structuring and supervising existing clinical services.
