The Vagina Monologues

On April 28th & April 29th Hudson Guild community members and staff members will be performing a benefit production of The Vagina Monologues. All proceeds collected from ticket sales will be going to MADRE, an international women’s human rights organization whose mission is to advance women’s human rights by meeting urgent needs in communities and building lasting solutions to the crises women face.

The Vagina Monologues is an episodic play written in 1996 by Eve Ensler meant to explore women empowerment that inspired women all over the world and raised collective consciousness about how violence and gender intersect. Ensler created a wide-reaching, multi-faceted portrait of both the positive and negative aspects of being a woman in contemporary society. In our adaptation of The Vagina Monologues, community members and Hudson Guild staff members will recite portions of the original monologues from Ensler’s play.

Hudson Guild Elliott Center will hold three productions of the Vagina Monologues this April.
