Ti Coq (22 Minutes)

This is the story of Josué, a roguish boy living with his grandmother. He has a pet rooster that he loves, and wishes to train him to become a dreaded fighting cock. A succession of unexpected events, however, looks set to frustrate his plans.

A coming of age story about a young immigrant woman who must choose between conforming her identity and spirituality to the cultural norms of America or revisiting her roots in the Afro-Brazilian religion called Candomble.

A young black Jamaican girl from the underclass and on the brink of womanhood, works at a Jamaican resort where she witnesses tourists’ affluence daily. As the breadwinner for her very large family, she faces a crisis of conscience, when a tourist couple seems to be the answer to her financial predicament.
