The Holiday season is here and we want to make it special for everyone in the community! We have many opportunities for Hudson Guild supporters to get involved and help spread holiday cheer this December, including our Toy Drive, Winter Warmth Drive, Holiday Pop-Up Shop, & Wayans Family $50K Match Challenge!
We want to make sure that everyone in our programs receives a present this year. Please consider donating an item from our Amazon Holiday Wish List! Items will be delivered directly to Hudson Guild for distribution during our Holiday Pop-Up Shop, an event where non-perishable foods, clothing, gifts, & more will be given out for free to families in the community! The Pop-Up will be held at our Elliott Center on December 15, 16, & 17. To find how to participate, please email newsletter@hudsonguild.org.
Help us support Hudson Guild families this winter with our 2021 Winter Warmth Drive! Hudson Guild's Junior Advisory Board is raising funds to help keep NYC families warm. The Covid-19 pandemic is still impacting the participants served by Hudson Guild and families in Chelsea continue to struggle to provide food and shelter for themselves and their families. Many are unable to pay their utility bills and with extreme weather becoming more frequent, these families have a heightened need for warm clothing this fall and winter. With the funds we raise, we will purchase brand new winter coats and gear to distribute to Hudson Guild participants who need them. Every penny we raise will go directly toward supporting Hudson Guild's participants, and no donation is too small. Thank you, as always, for your generosity, and let's take care of one another this winter! Visit the link below to donate: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/winterwarmthdrive.
Double your donation and make a gift to our Wayans Family $50k Match Challenge by visiting https://hudsonguild.org/donate and selecting the drop-down option, "Wayans Matching Gift Challenge." Share a picture of your donation on social media platforms, tag @hudson_guild & Marlon Wayans (@marlonwayans), and use the hashtags, #HGLetsmatchthewayans #HGgivingtuesdaychallenge!
As always, donations can be made on our website at https://hudsonguild.org/donate where you can make a one-time or recurring donation as well as select which one of our programs you would like to support. Thank you for helping us give back this Holiday season!
We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the supporters and volunteers, including Google, Chelsea Market, Tapestry Foundation, NYPD PSA 4, & MSD Partners who made our Turkey Giveaway, Pie Giveaway, and Thanksgiving Day event huge successes! We were able to give away 450 turkeys along with 300 pies & non-perishable food bags! On Thanksgiving Day, families and individuals from all around the community gathered at our Fulton Community Center to enjoy a meal. It was a pleasure to see our community enjoy time together.
Guild Gallery II is showing its next exhibit, The Light Over the Horizon, Light Art by Tom Fitzgibbon. Fitzgibbon has previously shown his work at Hudson Guild in three enthusiastically received exhibits since 2018. The Light Over the Horizon features several new light sculptures infused with the idea of not giving up hope. More information on viewing times can be found below.
For some, the holiday season can become a stressful time of year and our Mental Health Department would like to share some tips on Coping with Holiday Stress!
