ECE Step-up Ceremonies

In June, Early Childhood Education program participants completed another year of incredible achievements and outstanding hard work! Hudson Guild Early Childhood Centers, Amsterdam Center, Clinton Center, Elliott Center, and Polly Dodge Center held in-person and virtual step-up ceremonies to celebrate with the families and loved ones of the 2-year-olds, 3-K, and Pre-K classes. During the ceremonies, the teachers gave speeches congratulating the children and thanking the parents, and the children performed songs, shared their future career goals, and received certificates. A special thanks to all the amazing teachers at Hudson Guild for their constant support and dedication to the children!

Tapestry Volunteer Event

Over 200 volunteers from Tapestry came to the Elliott Center in June to build 150 bikes for our Early Childhood Education program participants! The bikes will be distributed as gifts to the participants following their step-up ceremonies at all the Hudson Guild Early Childhood Education sites.

A special thanks to all the Tapestry volunteers, including employees from the Coach, Kate Spade, & Stuart Weitzman brands, for helping us give back to the families we serve!

Joining the PSA Network

On June 2nd, we held a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating our inclusion into F.Y.Eye's PSA Network, the only free advertising space for nonprofits by nonprofits in the country. With the new digital billboards, our PSAs will be able to connect an audience of over 600,000 New Yorkers to Hudson Guild's services, along with allowing F.Y.Eye to connect 36,000 more people to essential resources! One digital billboard facing 9th Avenue can be found at our Fulton Community Center while two others can be found throughout the inside of the building.

K-8 Summer Camp Fundraiser

This summer, Hudson Guild's Junior Advisory Board is aiming to raise $10,000 for Hudson Guild’s K-8 Summer Camp Program. Each week during this year’s summer program, participants will learn about citizenship, honesty, respect, compassion, responsibility, courage and perseverance through engagement in art, STEM, literacy, physical wellness, and field trips.

Mural Project with The High Line

july_5.png

On June 11th, we held a festival at the Penn South basketball courts filled with food, live music, temporary tattoo stations, basketball tournaments, and live performances to showcase three murals created by Hudson Guild's Teen & Young Adult Services program. Be sure to stop by the Penn South basketball courts to check out the murals in-person.

Last year in collaboration with Friends of the High Line, teen Hudson Guild participants embarked on a mural project that focused on demonstrating peace within the community. Due to the pandemic the project was put on hold, but participants were finally able to complete and display their beautiful murals this year!
